Abstract. The article is devoted to the personality of the famous Ukrainian historian, archaeologist, museologist Vasyl’ Danylevyh. The relevance of the study consists in researching the archaeology activities of the Ukrainian historian at the end of the 19th – in the first third of the 20th century. He became a member of the Kyiv School of historians of Professor Antonovych and after graduation was a prominent representative of this School. Danylevych as student began his archaeological activity during his university years under the leadership of Volodymyr Antonovych. After all, one of the activities of the School was archeology. In his archaeological research, Vasyl’ Danilevych explores the Stone Age, in particular the Neolithic culture of the territory of Chersonesos, Mogyliv, Kharkiv and Kyiv provinces. He compiled a map of the coin treasures of the Kyiv and Kharkiv provinces, and described it in detail in his work. He took an active part in the XII Archaeological Congress, as a face-to-face exhibition for this collection, he made a cutout of the burial from the mound, at that time this was one of the first attempts at such work. He also participated in other archaeological congresses. In 1908, he published a textbook on archeology "course of Russian antiquities", and also taught lectures at various educational institutions. In 1925, his work was published in which he described the state of archeology at that time and outlined the problems that arose during the study of the archaeological past of the Kyiv region.
